Packaging Shift at Campus Kitchen
In April 2022, I engaged with a Rural Sociology Class regarding the disparities in the rural community. Collectively we packaged 123 meals that were distributed to families facing food insecurity in Lee County.
In-service Learning Experience
ACHR Community Garden Project
In April 2021, I connected with with Mr. Earl Tarver at Alabama Council on Human Relations about their community garden and how it was being utilized. I was able to connect Dr. Joshua Weaver, a Horticulture Professor at Auburn University. His classroom dedicated the 2022 Spring semester creating a space where Headstart students and families receive nutritious and accessible food.
2021 Christmas in July
In May 2021, my non-profit, Women in Nonprofit partnered with Ignite Alabama and Toys for Tots to help distribute 350 toys to children in rural communities. I hosted two events, in Lee and Macon County.
